Half way through creating my magazine, I noticed that the masthead wasn't as sharp as I wanted it to be. I noticed in "Empire" magazines, the masthead is usually bright and it catches a readers eye immediately and I decided to put an effect on the masthead.
Here is the normal masthead in which I wanted to change in order to make it look more professional and brighter personally. By doing this, it will capture the readers eye and it will attract them to read the actual magazine as they will notice the brand "Empire" much more quicker.
In this screenshot, you can see I have selected the layer in which the mast head is placed. I have opened the edit tool in which it gives me many options to choose from. I decided to go with a drop shadow and I made its opacity to 75% in order for it to make it more darker on the edges. This also relates to the genre of my magazine as it is horror and it also adds an creepy effect on my whole magazine.
Here is the result of the effect. As you can see it has made my masthead stand out more as the shadow effect has overall made it look more appealing towards the reader. This also makes my magazine look more realistic as it links to similar "Empire" magazines mastheads.
